Do you all love Pumpkin Spice as much as I do?! A ready-made version of this spice mix can be found in stores, of course, though I don’t come across it often here in Germany. So I just make my own. Not only is this cheaper, but I can also adjust the proportions of each ingredient to suit my personal preferences. I use Ceylon cinnamon as a base (for more info about why you should choose Ceylon over Cassia cinnamon, check out this post), then add cinnamon flowers (optional), cloves, allspice, star anise, and nutmeg (optional). Some cooks also like adding dried ginger or cardamom to their pumpkin spice mixes.

Apart from cinnamon, for which I use the powdered form, I use all spices in their whole, unground forms and then add them to my Vitamix* to grind them – which always works just great.

Pumpkin Spice can be used for homemade a Pumpkin Spice Latte or to spice up breakfast recipes (porridge, Overnight Oats). Enjoy!
