I gotta admit: since I attended a blogger breakfast hosted by Tchibo a few weeks ago, I’ve developed a bit of coffee fever. Okay, not just a “bit” – I have major coffee fever right now! Or maybe it’s that I just finished a “water week” where I went completely coffee-free and downed nothing but mineral water? Either way, I was inspired to whip up a beautiful new coffee drink and share the recipe with all of you: my Coffee Banana (Breakfast) Smoothie.


For the past few days, I’ve been drinking this smoothie to get my coffee fix. It’s not only delicious and super quick to prepare, but it’s also a kind of 2-for-1: fresh coffee plus a nourishing meal to start the day! Pretty genius, no? Banana and oats keep you satisfied, while the coffee perks you up and puts a little spring in your step. Throw in an optional tablespoon of nut butter (e.g. peanut butter) and you’ve got the perfect breakfast.

  1. Die Banane schälen und in Stücke schneiden. Mit den restlichen Zutaten mixen (z.B. im Vitamix*) und in ein Glas füllen.

If you love coffee as much as I do, you just have to try the smoothie – you won’t regret it! When it gets hot out, feel free to add some ice cubes – and in the winter, you can even warm things up a bit by adding hot coffee instead of cold.
