Snacks have a special status within the Clean Eating concept: In addition to the three main meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), it’s good to try to get in 2–3 snacks per day. Here, I’ve compiled some healthy snack ideas for when you’re out and about – great for bringing to work, school, and for traveling!

Healthy snacks for on-the-go:

  • Fruit: apples, bananas, pears, grapes …
  • Dried fruit:mango, apple rings, apricots (look for the darker-colored unsulfured variety!), dates, plums, figs, raisins …
  • Nuts: cashews, walnuts, pecans, almonds, pistacios, hazelnuts …

  • Vegetables (bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, radishes, kohlrabi …)
  • Spelt crackers, rice cakes
  • Cheese
  • Hard-boiled eggs

All of these snacks not only fit perfectly into the Clean Eating concept, but also have other advantages, since they …

  • … don’t have to be refrigerated
  • … don’t crumble or melt
  • … can be packed into a container or bag (or even without one – like apples and bananas)
  • … are easy to eat

Enjoy! :-)
